Boating is inherently dangerous, and as the Renter you recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks associated with boating and use of the vessels and you assume full responsibility for personal injury to yourself and for any minor children and or guests in your custody, care, and control, and you further release and discharge Smith Mountain Boat Rentals for any injury, damage or loss arising out of the use of the vessels, whether caused by the fault of yourself, your passengers, Smith Mountain Boat Rentals, or other third parties.
Smith Mountain Boat Rentals will provide all of your proper safety gear for your vessel.
All minor children 13 and under are required to wear a US Coast Guard Approved life jacket while on the vessels. Contact us to provide the correct sizes for your rental.
We take boating safety seriously. We want all of our guests to have a fun experience while also keeping their families safe. SMBR will provide you with a free, temporary license, issued by DWR, that fully licenses you to drive our boats for only the duration of your rental. We highly encourage you and any other driver to take the online boating safety course. Which fully licenses you to drive a boat in the state of VA. Link provided below.
